Release Notes- April 29th, 2024

  • Webex Feed:
    Teams and Webex meeting recordings were moved into a dedicated Webex Feed option in the main menu. Webex Feed also includes addition of Spaces, where users can review the content that was shared to/ recorded to Webex spaces of which they are members. More information is available in the Webex Feed article.

  • Webex Meeting recording Import V2:
    Users can now select meeting invitees that will get a viewer access to imported Meeting recordings. Import Your Webex Meeting article has been updated to reflect these changes.

  • Improved Transcripts:
    Users are now able to translate English transcript into languages set by their organization, copy transcript in a .srt format and copy links to a specific timestamp based on their transcript. This information has been included in the Edit Transcript article.

  • Download viewer activity (Beta):
    Users can now download a detailed viewer activity analytics per video. Who Viewed My Vidcast? article will walk you through all available analytics.

  • Default video editor:
    Users are now able to assign dedicated video editor that will automatically get an editor access to all their new content. Collaborative Editing article now offers a guide to set up this default video editor.

  • Transfer video ownership:
    Users can now transfer of their videos to another user in their Webex organization. Transfer Your Vidcast To Another User article will show you how videos can be transferred.

  • Localization:
    Slovenian language was added to the list of supported languages.

  • Various performance fixes:
    Recording with virtual backgrounds/ noise reduction was optimized to ensure smoother and more stable recording experience.

  • Vidcast in Webex sidebar (MacOS)
    The Vidcast Webex App Integration is now live for MacOS users. Anyone with the Webex version 44.3 and higher should see the app in the Webex sidebar. Please refer to the Webex App Integration (Mac OS) article for more details. This feature can be disabled for the organization from their Control Hub.

Release Notes - February 12th, 2024

  • Vidcast in Webex sidebar (Windows only)
    The Vidcast Webex App Integration is now live for Windows users. Anyone with the Webex version 44.2 and higher should see the app in the Webex sidebar. Please refer to the Webex App Integration article for more details. This feature can be disabled for the organization from their Control Hub.

Release Notes - February 9th, 2024

  • AI Highlights:
    Highlights automatically generate a summary of the video, allowing viewers to focus on the main points without needing to watch the entire video from the beginning to end.

  • Smart Chapter :
    Vidcast is now able to utilize AI to also assist with creation of chapters. These will be located in the right hand side bar next to the video. More details about these features can be found in the AI Highlights & Smart Chapters article.

Release Notes - January 31st, 2024

  • Desktop application for Mac - Mac users can now download the Vidcast desktop application by clicking the top right hand profile icon. This is a helper application that enhances the creator experience by offering floating controls, the ability to resize and drag your camera icon, and more. Release Notes - December 14th, 2023

  • Comment Threads - Users are now able to reply to comments and start discussion threads. Full demonstration can be found in Threaded Comments Vidcast.

  • Localization - Vidcast is now translated to 30 languages, which can be set in Account Settings. You can refer to Account Settings Overview article for full list of languages.

Release Notes - October 4th, 2023

  • Share to Space V2- Webex users can now use their spaces as a share restriction. Full overview of all share settings can be found in the Share your Vidcast article.

  • Control Panel- ​We have enhanced the controls on the left-hand side of the playback page to provide a more streamlined and organized user experience. Additionally, chapters were moved within this panel for easy access.

  • Groups renamed to Teams- ​To align with the Webex app, we have rebranded "Groups" as "Teams". This change ensures a more cohesive and intuitive experience across our platform. Full overview can be found in the Teams article.

Release Notes - September 15th, 2023

  • Playlist and Collaborative Playlists- Collections feature has been renamed and improved with playlist functionality, allowing users to categorize and play their videos in a sequential order. Further details can be found in Playlists and Collaborative Playlists articles.

  • Control Hub improvements- Webex Control Hub admins are now able to toggle various access control toggles on both group and user level. More information in Controul Hub: Group Settings and Control Hub: User Settings articles.

Release Notes - July 26th, 2023

  • Library introduced- a more organized way to view both your own videos you have recorded/imported and those that have been shared with you.

  • New notification revamp- Users will now see these notifications slide across the corner of their screen in real time. Preview to be found in the Notifications article.

Release Notes - June 28th, 2023

  • Trim and Change Title on Preview Page- Users can now trim and change their title on the preview page before saving their video. Full process updated in Record a Vidcast article.

Release Notes - May 23rd, 2023

  • Virtual Backgrounds- Users now have the ability to both blur and choose from preloaded virtual backgrounds. Full process updated in Record a Vidcast article.

  • UI Improvements- The Edit, Insights and Share buttons have been relocated below the video player on the playback page.

Release Notes - April 24th, 2023

  • Collaborative Collections- Users can invite their colleagues to add their videos to a collection for an easier way to collaborate with their team. (This feature was replaced with Collaborative Playlist on September 15th, 2023)

Release Notes - March 20th, 2023

  • Profile Page- Any user within the company can click on creators' profile icon and navigate to their page to view discoverable videos and collections. Article explaining Profile page can be found here.

Release Notes - March 1st, 2023

  • Collaborative Editing- Creators can now designate editors within the share modal which will allow them to edit, stitch and share their videos. Full walkthrough in the Collaborative Editing article.

  • New video" button- Users now have the ability to create a new video on any Vidcast screen.

  • Playback screen scaling- We have improved the scaling on the playback screen to allow for a bigger player when viewing a Vidcast.

Release Notes - January 23rd, 2023

  • Better Self-View Recording Experience- When users go to record in self-view, both the image of themself and main control buttons will be front and center of their screen. This allows for easier accessibility and the ability to see yourself while recording on the Vidcast screen.

  • Groups- Groups feature allows both members and moderators to share their videos to a Group within Vidcast (this feature has been renamed to Teams on Oct 4th, 2023). Full article explaining Teams here.
