If you want to feature your video or your playlist on your Website, you can easily do so with by embedding Vidcast player. This video will walk you through embedding both videos and playlists, supported parameters and embedding to Slido and Webex Events.

Embed a video

To embed a single video, click on the Share button below the video on the playback page. Make sure the video is set to Open link, and select the Embed tab in the share modal.

From there, you will be able to copy either just the embed link or the embed code.

  • Embed link allows you to embed the video in tools that accept media links

  • Embed code will allow you to embed the video in tools that require the whole <div></div> element, or on your website. You can choose either Responsive size (video player will adjust and adapt to any screen size), Or Fixed size (video player will retain the size you will set)

Please note that certain tools that accept "media links" for embedding videos have to have Vidcast recognized as a valid media link by their developers. This is not a case, for example, with PowerPoint, where currently the only option to include a Vidcast is to download the video and embed it as a video file from your device.

Embed a playlist

To embed a playlist, navigate to your Library-> Playlists and click into the playlist you want to embed. You can bring up share permissions with the same Embed tab by clicking on the Share button in the top right corner.

Once again, your playlist will have to be set to Open link, which will allow you to select the same embed options as when you are embedding a single video.

Embedding a playlist will allow your audience to play all videos in the playlist in a sequential order. They will see a collapsible panel on the right that will allow them to navigate the playlist right from the embedded video player.

Embed a page

You can also embed a Vidcast page directly to your website. To do so, navigate to Library-> Pages and click into the page you want to embed. As with videos or playlists, you can click on the Share button (top right corner) to open a share permissions window. If the page is set to Open Link, you will be able to generate the embed code.

We recommend using Responsive size for the best looking embedded page.

Embed parameters

You can further tweak how the embedded video/playlist will behave by adding following parameters at the end of embed link:

?index=0

Available only for playlist

Selects which video in the playlist plays first. ?index=0 will play the first video, ?index=1 will play the second video and so on.

?autoplay=1

Available for all embeds

The video will autoplay after the page loads. Please note that modern browsers have autoplay policy that will set any autoplay content to mute.

?cc=1

Available for all embeds

Video will play with closed captions on.

?t=1

Available for all embeds

Starts the playback on a specific timestamp by adding ?t=number_of_seconds to the video URL. For example, if you want the video to open at 3:00, the parameter will be ?t=180, video at 2:45 would be ?t=165 etc.

?expand=1

Available only for playlist

Loads the video with playlist controls expanded.

?mute=1

Available for all embeds

Applies mute to the video.

You can also apply multiple parameters to an embed by replacing ? with & for any subsequent parameters. For example:

https://app.vidcast.io/playlists/embed/playlist_link?index=3&t=60&cc=1

This playlist will load on the 4th video in the playlist, at 1 minute timestamp, and will have closed captions automatically enabled.

Embed Vidcast into Slido

While Slido polls can be added directly to your Vidcast, this can also work the other way. If you are have a live Slido, you can easily add a Vidcast video or a playlist that your guests will be able to play at their own time, while answering your polls.

Slido participant mode with Vidcast playlist embeded

In Slido host mode, create a new Slido (or open an existing) and add your poll questions. Click on Settings on the left, select Integrations tab and enable Live video option. There, you will be able to add Vidcast embed code for either a single video or playlist.

Add Vidcast to Webex Events

Webex Events enables you to embed Vidcasts into your event or community’s various features, enabling you to easily pull in pre-recorded messages from sponsors, presenters and speakers in your Webex Events.
