Ever needed a quick summary of a long meeting, a clarification on a key concept, or the exact moment a topic was discussed in a video? The Ask Me Anything feature in Vidcast is your personal AI assistant, designed to help you get answers and find information instantly.

You can find the Ask Me Anything panel in the top right corner of the video player in Theatre Mode, or just above the engagement panel in the regular view.
At its core, AMA lets you ask questions in plain language. You can ask for clarifications on terms, inquire about specific details, or request a custom summary of a particular section. The AI analyzes the video’s transcript to provide a concise, factual answer based only on the content of the recording.
Beyond just answering questions, AMA can pinpoint the exact moments in the video where topics are discussed. To use this, simply ask when something was mentioned or if a topic was covered. In response, you'll receive a list of relevant moments, each with a short description and a clickable timestamp that jumps you directly to that point in the video.
What you can ask:
Clarifications: Ask for explanations about specific terms, concepts, or segments mentioned in the video.
Details: Inquire about specific details or data points that were discussed.
Custom Summaries: Request a summary of a particular section or topic
Follow-up Questions: Feel free to ask additional questions based on the information provided in the video.
Not sure where to start? You can use from multiple pre-defined prompts such as "Key questions and decisions", "List all participants and their roles" or even get a summary for email generated. This can be done by selecting appropriate buttons below assistant's input field.
Tips for Best Results
Be Specific: The more details you provide, the better the answer. Mention topics, keywords, or even timestamps.
Ask About Timestamps: For example, “At what time did they explain the onboarding flow?” or simply enter a keyword.
One Question at a Time: For clear and focused responses, ask one question per query.
Use Keywords: If unsure, provide keywords or phrases to search for relevant moments.
Please remember that the AI's responses are based exclusively on the video's transcript. Because of this, the feature is only available for videos that have a transcript. If the information you're asking for isn't in the transcript, the AI will let you know and provide the closest related content it can find.
