Vidcast allows for Slido polls to be inserted directly into recordings, which can greatly increase the interaction between video creators and viewers. This guide will walk you through how to use Slido and Vidcast together to maximize your asynchronous interaction and productivity.

We are gradually rolling out the Slido integration to all users. It may not be available for your videos yet, but we are diligently working on making it available to everyone as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience in the meantime!
How do I start?
Open up any video's editing page and you'll see Polls by Slido listed among other editing options on the right side. Once you're there, clicking the green polling icon near the bottom of the playback window will create your first poll.
Poll types
Word Cloud: Ask your audience a question that they can respond to in one or two words. When the same answer is submitted by multiple viewers, that answer will appear larger in the cloud. This makes a great visual for displaying the most popular responses.
Rating Poll: Ask anything that you'd like your viewers to rate on a 1 to 5-star scale.
Multiple Choice: With this poll type, you'll ask a question and provide options for your viewers to choose from. You can even allow for them to choose multiple options if you'd like.
Open Text: Ask any question you'd like and viewers will be able to respond in an open text format.
Arranging your polls
After adding one or more polls to your recording, you'll be able to drag each poll to specific points in your video. This allows you to position your polls to where they're the most relevant.
How does it work for a viewer?
The video will play just like any other Vidcast. But once the viewer gets to a timestamp where you've added a Slido poll, that poll will automatically activate for them on the right side of their screen. The poll will remain active for them throughout the end of the video or until another poll begins.
How can I view the results from my polls?
You'll be able to view your results directly from the video's playback page. Just click on each poll π
You'll also be able to access poll results directly at slido.com. Simply choose the Log in with Webex option and use your same Webex/Vidcast credentials.
Then choose the Slido that corresponds with your Vidcast recording. This is where you'll access all of your poll result data (including .xls file downloads).
At slido.com, Vidcast events will default to being named Slido Event for Vidcast - followed by the share link ID specific to your recording (e.g. Slido Event for Vidcast - e3b18591-a05b-4c1b-acb1-7e13510b7483).
In other words, the ID from your slido title will match the one included in your Vidcast video's share link URL.
Although the share link URL will always remain the same, you can change the slido title to something else at any time via the slido settings.
FAQs
Can I create my polls at slido.com and then add them to my Vidcast recording?
Not at this time. Any polls used with a Vidcast recording must be created within the integration at vidcast.io.
Will other Slido features be added for use within Vidcast?
Although the integration is limited to the four basic poll types, we do play on introducing more Slido functionality in the future.
Can I add a description or maybe an image to my polls?
Yes, you sure can. You'll just need to add them to your polls at slido.com. Even though you don't add them directly from the integration, they will appear within Vidcast if added from the Slido host page.
I already use Slido. Will my polls created within Vidcast be found in my existing account?
As long as your Slido account is set up with your same Webex/Vidcast credentials β yes! All Slido polls and data created within Vidcast will sync with your same slido.com account.
How can I distinguish between my Vidcast polls/events at slido.com?
Every video that you add polls to will create a Slido event at slido.com entitled Slido Event for Vidcast - followed by the unique video share ID for your recording (e.g.
