Add a Vidcast to your Webex Events Custom Pages or Live Stream

We wanted to share a few use cases and best practices here on how others use Vidcast with Webex Events create engaging content for your events, that may be useful as you build out your next virtual or hybrid Webex Event.

How Vidcast integrates with Webex Events

Webex Events enables you to embed Vidcasts into your event or community’s various features, enabling you to easily pull in pre-recorded messages from sponsors, presenters and speakers in your Webex Event.

Within the Webex Events platform, Vidcast is included as a selectable Live Stream and Recording provider in the Agenda and Live Stream features. You can also select Vidcast as a Content Provider when building out Speaker and Sponsor profiles, or when creating Custom List items.

You can also simply paste a Vidcast embed link anywhere the External Link field can be found.

Once you’ve created a Vidcast, it's super easy to embed it in a custom page in the Webex Events platform, simply:

  1. Copy the embed link from your Vidcast playback page

    1. Click on Share Video and make sure the permissions are set to "Open Link".

    2. Then go to the Embed tab and select "Copy embed link". *We recommend selecting Responsive size before copying the embed link

  2. Paste the embed link into your events page in the Webex Events platform,

    1. To embed in your Live Stream or Agenda page, simply select Vidcast as the Live Stream provider or Recording provider, then paste the share link into the Vidcast URL field.

    2. To embed in a Sponsor/Exhibitor, Speaker, and Custom List page, first set the feature to Grid View so the Content Provider field is available when creating a new item. In the New Item modal, select Vidcast from the Content Provider drop-down, and then paste the share link into the Vidcast URL field.
