Collaborative Editing

Do you want to see Collaborative Editing explained via Vidcast? Click on the thumbnail above!

Vidcast now allows you to add other users as Editors on your recordings. These users will then be able to edit your video in just about every way that you can (including the ability to add more editors). The only restriction is video deletion. You as the creator will always be the only one who can delete your recordings.

To add editors to your video, you'll start by opening up your sharing settings. Then simply add the email address(es) of anyone whom you'd like to have editing rights and click Share.

Add editors

This will add that user's email address to the list below. The user's role will be defaulted to Viewer, but you'll be able to change them to Editor by clicking on the dropdown menu.

Add editors

Then click Done to finalize your changes. Your colleague(s) will receive an email letting them know you've added them as an editor for your recording. And it's as simple as that!

Now when you open up the Creator's panel to edit the video, you'll see avatars of the editors you've added in the upper right corner. Clicking there will bring up the sharing settings for you – so you can easily add more editors if needed.

Creator's panel

To find videos where you've been added as an editor, go to Videos in your Library and look under the Collaborative section.

Is there someone who you collaborate with often and they frequently need access to all your new videos? You can now select default editors for any videos you create. This can be set up by clicking on your profile avatar-> Account Settings -> App

You can add as many editors you need, and they will automatically be added to sharing permissions of any future videos you create/ upload/ import.

Please note that you can only invite editors from the same Webex organization.
